Development of innovative curricula and modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development

Dushanbe, Tajikistan - 14 October 2025

On 14 October 2025, Tajik Technical University (TTU) proudly hosted an important international event within the framework of the EU-funded Erasmus+ CirculEC Project - "Innovative Education for the Circular Economy."

TTU welcomed distinguished guests and academic delegations from Spain, Italy, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, marking a key moment in strengthening regional and international cooperation in the field of sustainable development and green transition.

The purpose of the visit was to conduct a monitoring session assessing the level of integration of circular economy principles into university curricula, reviewing new academic syllabi, and evaluating the development of innovative teaching modules aligned with modern sustainability priorities.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Rakhmonzoda Zoir Faizali, Rector of TTU, who emphasized the importance of international partnerships in advancing higher education and promoting the green economy. Representatives from participating countries also delivered statements expressing their readiness to expand cooperation and share expertise in curriculum development.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to TTU's academic infrastructure, laboratory facilities, and ongoing work related to the development and piloting of circular economy modules. The visit was recognized as an important milestone in enhancing academic collaboration and contributing to the modernization of higher education across Central Asia.

The delegation also reviewed presentations on the progress of the CirculEC Project at TTU, highlighting achievements in curriculum innovation and the implementation of circular economy concepts within educational programs.

TTU expressed hope that the outcomes of this visit will contribute to strengthening joint academic platforms and ensuring the successful realization of the CirculEC project's goals.
