Main Activities

Physical education at the University is offered as an academic discipline, which is one of the compulsory subjects.

Academic works

The University’s main emphasis for teaching this discipline is to improve on practical exercises, allowing students to engage in physical development. This includes strengthening their health and providing practical and theoretical skills that can be used for further self-study. Teachers put in a lot of work to provide a healthy life-style for students.

The curriculum reflects the requirements of state educational standards (in the amount of 96 hours). Training sessions for first year students are held within the first 64 hours of courses (4 credits). Second year students complete their requirements within the last 32 hours of the course (2 credits), completing the 96 hour requirements.

Students are divided into their respective courses depending on the status of their health. There are three study groups - primary, preparatory and special-medical. In the main group, students are prepared with sufficient physical readiness. In the preparatory group, physically weak students are trained for better preparation. The special-medical group works with students suffering from any disease.

During class, students are introduced to modern methods of training and acquire skills on sports officiating, which helps them reach high physical standards and classifications. This allows them to be able to participate in mass events such as international competitions.

Each semester, students take two tests and a final exam on physical education.

The educational focus of the program is to provide for all student needs in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and expresses the necessary value on the subject of health.

Teaching Methods and Graduate Research Work

Within the Physical Education Department, we have developed and published a guidebook titled "Physical Education" by M. Saidova. Furthermore, we carry out an orientation to discuss the topics that are covered in the course. Teachers of the department took part in the republican scientific-practical and international scientific conferences. Also, at the department has research work on an "Organizational-economic controlling mechanism in the sphere of physical culture and sports", the result of 3 monographs and more than 45 scientific articles.

In April 2013, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan held a competition titled "Students and the Progress of Science and Technology." Second year students, a group of 250,104, including our own Karimov Shokhin, who was mentored by Associate Professor M. Saidova participated in this contest. The topic was on "The use of new information technology in physical education classes" and awarded Shokhin a diploma from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan

SPORTS FACILITIES

To conduct educational and sports activities, our campus has the necessary infrastructure for physical education and sports.

At the university we have two playgrounds and a large sports complex that meet all necessary requirements.

The sports facilities hold workshops and sports competitions.

Furthermore, on the second floor of the sports complex are special mini halls for training in sports such as billiards, checkers, chess, table tennis and gym.

There are courts for practical training and sports competitions such as volleyball, basketball, badminton and tennis.

Our second court is meant for practical training and sports competitions in mini football, athletics and gymnastics.

Good technical conditioning of the playgrounds and sports complex can not only provide training for students, but also regional, city and national competitions.

Since October 1, 2011, the University has operated a sports club as part of the department activities, which is led by Candidate Master of Sports and senior trainer Izzatov LA.

The department operates numerous sports clubs including volleyball, basketball, football, athletics, table tennis, national wrestling, judo, taekwondo, chess, martial arts, jiu-jitsu and badminton.

Sectional classes enable students to master the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the sport of their choice.
